More on PCIT.
Throughout PCIT “coach sessions” parent and child are in a playroom while the therapist is in an observation room. Parents will wear a "bug-in-the-ear" device to allow therapist to provide live coaching on therapeutic skills that will enhance the bond between parent-child and assist parent with managing their child’s behaviors.
More on TF-CBT.
TF-CBT treats the emotional and behavioral symptoms of traumatic stress by teaching the child/adolescent how to: Identify and express their emotions, communicate and cope with their emotions, utilize relaxation techniques, and find helpful ways to think about situations. The therapist will meet with the caregiver(s) each session to provide information about how to provide trauma-informed care within the home.
